Forward Harvey Saunders believes three points against Salford City on Saturday can be the catalyst for Tranmere Rovers to put a positive run of form together in Sky Bet League Two.
Rovers are back in action at home for the first time since overcoming Leyton Orient 1-0 last month, and following two disappointing results in recent away games, Saunders feels Rovers can bounce back against the Ammies.
Harvey, who recently signed from Bristol Rovers last month, sat down with the local press to preview the Salford clash.
Saunders said: “You have got to take every game as it comes. Anything can happen in this league, and we just need to get on a roll. This is the business part of the season where results matter and if we can get the results, it’s a positive.
“It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster. In my first game we beat the top of the league, and the past two results just haven’t been good enough.
“It’s one of those leagues where in every game, anything can happen, but you’ve got to deal with everything that comes.
“The lads are great. Everyone has made me feel really welcome, so it’s a good group to be in, we just need to gel properly and get a run going.
“The first goal is always the hardest. You’re waiting to get off the mark and hopefully it will come soon.
“It’s all about getting the three points. Obviously as a striker I want to score but the important thing is getting the three points and we want to be there at the top end of the table.
“We’ve been working in training and we’re getting that understanding of how we are going to play together as players.”
Saunders is relishing the chance to return to Prenton Park and hopes the SWA can play their part in backing the lads to a home victory.
He added: “You can see, Tranmere are a big club and it’s a big thing in the local area, and when you have got the fans on your side, Prenton Park is a great place to be and as an opposition player you don’t want to come and play here.”
