Club Statement: Zero tolerance policy towards discriminatory behaviour

3 January 2023

Tranmere Rovers Football Club are very disappointed to learn of two instances of alleged discriminatory comments that were made during our League Two fixture against Crewe Alexandra on Sunday.

The comments were quite rightly reported by fellow fans who were understandably disgusted and do not want to see such language go unchallenged.

The Club takes matters like this very seriously with a zero-tolerance policy.

We work hard with our partners such as Show Racism the Red Card, Level Playing Field, Kick It Out, Her Game Too and Pride in Football to ensure that everyone is made to feel welcome as a supporter of Tranmere Rovers both home and away. The vast majority of our fans are a credit to the Club but a tiny minority let us all down.

Tranmere Rovers will not tolerate this behaviour from or towards our supporters and supporters making hateful comments are not welcome at our Club. We will be taking steps to identify the people involved so that appropriate action can be taken.

If you have been affected by any such comments please see the below websites for help and support:
