Thanks to main sponsor Essar Oil UK Ltd and our other commercial partners, Tranmere Rovers successfully delivered Super White Christmas to help those in need over the festive period.
For the sixth successive year, we hosted a range of events and activities and delivered over 300 food parcels across the Wirral, in collaboration with the Tranmere Rovers Trust.
Christmas parties were also held at Prenton Park and Beechwood Recreation Centres which saw over 150 children from targeted groups attend, each receiving a Tranmere Rovers away shirt and additional gifts.
On Christmas Day, Prenton Park was opened to welcome 30 care-leavers who enjoyed Christmas dinner, festive activities, and gifts. This event was delivered in partnership with Wirral Christmas Dinner.
On Boxing Day, more than 60 people experiencing homelessness, loneliness or financial hardship attended Prenton Park and received a hot meal and a Tranmere Rovers away shirt. Attendees were also treated to a match ticket and enjoyed our 3-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers.
Staff, students, and their families from Calday Grange Grammar School once again donated hundreds of toys which the club distributed across the Wirral to help children who may not otherwise have been able to open such gifts on Christmas morning.
Finally, along with the Tranmere Rovers Trust, we delivered over 300 food parcels to the most vulnerable in our community.
Senior Community Manager, Matt Houghton, said: "For the sixth year running, we’ve helped the most vulnerable members of our community experience some of the festive joys many of us take for granted.
"We’d like to thank Essar Oil UK Ltd as well as our other commercial partners for their support in making Super White Christmas 2022 a success.
"We’d also like to thank the SWA who donated food, gifts, and their time to help those in need.
"Once again, the power of football and the collective efforts of our stakeholders has helped many of those in need on the Wirral enjoy the festive period. Thanks to everyone who made it possible."
