Tranmere Rovers Women come away with another victory as they continued their pre-season campaign with a 4-0 win against Connah’s Quay this afternoon
The early exchanges were fairly balanced, with both teams taking time to get into their respective strides.
Quay were the ones who came closest to opening the scoring first when their centre forward found themselves one on one with Size who gets down fast to deny them the chance.
From that moment Rovers controlled the game creating several chances and also defending solidly as a unit at the back providing some lovely team football.
The girls in White opened the scoring after being awarded a penalty for handball which Ellie Doyle calmly converted into the back of the net to give Tranmere the lead.
On the stroke of half time, Rovers doubled their lead through Hollie Jones after finding herself with plenty of time and space on the outside of the box curled the ball into the top right corner making it unstoppable for the home keeper.
Rovers started the second half on the front foot and nearly extended their lead in the opening seconds through Ellie Doyle but her shot went just wide of the post.
Continuing with high-pressing football, Tranmere kept creating chances but were unable able to convert until Cloe Robinson slid onto the end of a Doyle corner and despite a goal line scramble from the home side, got a third of the afternoon.
It was our very own Welsh Dragon who rounded off the afternoon after being played through on goal and slotted it past the keeper.
Rovers continued to control the game and looked defensively strong all afternoon to keep a second clean sheet and win of the pre-season campaign.
