Tranmere Rovers fan group, Rover and Out, have introduced a Matchday Buddy Scheme ahead of the 2023/24 campaign to make more people feel comfortable coming to Prenton Park by themselves.
If you are looking to visit Prenton Park this season but don’t want to go by yourself, you can now join one of our Match Day Buddies to enjoy the experience of Rovers with the SWA.
Founder of Rover and Out, Adam Siddorn, sat down with us to talk about the scheme and how it can help people moving forward.
“There are fans out there who would love to come to Prenton Park and experience what we all experience every single week, the problem is, they don’t know who to go to the game with, so they leave it.
“This is a way where any fan at all, no matter how old you are, sexuality, if you want to come to the game and you’re by yourself and don’t want to be by yourself, this is for you.
“You meet before the game with like-minded fans, we’ll talk football, we’ll go in together, a proper fan experience.
“Hopefully over time, people who come and experience this Matchday Buddy, they’ll make friends and they’ll no longer have the feeling of having no-one to go to the game with.
“This is a perfect way of getting more fans to Prenton Park and become a bigger family.”
Adam also spoke about the fact that is a scheme for everyone, not just people in the LGBTQ+ community.
“We’re an inclusion group. You see the badge, you think LGBTQ+, we are an inclusion group for everyone and everyone is more than welcome to come and get involved.
“We all want to win, we all want to enjoy ourselves, we all want what’s best for the Club and the more people we can get from any walk of life coming to Prenton Park, the better.”
