Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce that popular former player Neil Danns will be returning to Prenton Park, as assistant manager to Ian Dawes.
Following a 20 year career in the League, Neil has recently been making the transition into coaching and management, being appointed as player manager by Macclesfield and leading them to promotion to the Northern Premier League as champions this season, putting together a stunning 22 game unbeaten run in the process.
Neil Danns said “I’m delighted to be returning to Tranmere. I’m at the start of my coaching journey and while I hugely enjoyed my time at Macclesfield and am very grateful for them for giving me my first opportunity in management, I could not miss the opportunity to be part of the team-behind-the-team at Tranmere.”
Ian Dawes said “I am really pleased that Dannzy has agreed to join us. He was a popular figure when he was here and is a great character to have back in the building. He’s had great success in his first season at Macclesfield and is hungry to keep building on that and prove his mettle in the League. He knows that the support systems being put in place at Tranmere will give him a great platform for success.”
