Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce that Tom Davies has signed a new two-year contract with the Club.
The commanding defender joined the Club in the summer of 2021 and has been a consistent figure in the Rovers defensive back line since arriving, bringing both a physical and a vocal presence on the pitch.
Committing his future to the Club, the 31-year-old will stay at Prenton Park until 2025, where he has cemented himself as a fan-favourite.
After signing the contract, Tom said: “I’m really pleased and it’s been in the works for a while.
“There has been a bit of a period where we were waiting to hear about the manager but now that’s been sorted, I’m happy to be here for another two years and hopefully get this club competing for promotion.
“Since Dawesy has taken the reins he’s had a positive effect on myself and the group. Tranmere is somewhere I am enjoying playing my football and I’ve got a good relationship with the manager, so it became an easy decision for me.
“Now it’s about building on what we’ve got, having a good summer preparation and building a squad which will compete next year.”
Tranmere Rovers Manager Ian Dawes said: “We’re delighted to have Tom on board for the next two seasons. It’s something that we have wanted to secure for a while now but he understandably wanted some certainty regarding the manager and support team he would be working with.
“Tom is such an important player for the Club, not just on the pitch but off the pitch too. He’s a great leader and a fantastic ambassador for us. He's an important part of the spine of the team, and a great example for the younger players.
“We need players like Tom if we’re going to be competing at the right end of the table.
“It’s all about getting the balance right between developing young players and winning games of football and a few experienced heads like Tom can help with both of those things because of his leadership and passion.”
