Tranmere Rovers Legends, the revered football heroes of yesteryear, will face off against the spirited Wirral Radio FC in a highly anticipated charity football match.

The match will take place at Ashville Football Club on Saturday 20th May and will require a modest entry fee of £6 per person.

The Martin Gallier Project is a distinguished local organisation dedicated to providing essential suicide prevention support and counselling services to those in need. By organising this exciting football match, Tranmere Rovers Legends and Wirral Radio FC aim to generate awareness and financial aid for this remarkable initiative. The event serves as a reminder that mental health matters, and together, we can make a difference.

Football enthusiasts and supporters of both teams will have the unique opportunity to witness their beloved idols in action once again. The Tranmere Rovers Legends, comprising iconic figures who have graced the hallowed Prenton Park turf, will showcase their skills, finesse, and unrivalled passion for the game.

  • Time: 2pm kick off
  • Venue: Ashville Football Club, Wallasey, ch45 8rh
  • Entry Fee: £6 per person (all proceeds go directly to The Martin Gallier Project)
  • Tickets available at the gate

 

In addition to the captivating football match, attendees can enjoy various entertainment and activities throughout the day. There will be raffles, merchandise stands, and the opportunity to meet and greet the Tranmere Rovers Legends. 

Adam Siddorn, the Events and Fundraising Lead at The Martin Gallier Project, expressed gratitude for the support received, stating:

"This is our 9th annual charity match raising money for local charities. It’s an honour to raise money this year for The Martin Gallier Project in the name of our friend Kieran who took his own life in 2019.”

“To know that we are supporting a charity who are saving people’s lives across Wirral daily makes us extremely proud. We can’t put into words how grateful we are for the support these events have been given by Tranmere Rovers and the SWA.”
