Sam Taylor signs one-year contract extension until 2026

24 November 2023

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to announce that Sam Taylor has signed a one-year contract extension until the end of June 2026.

Since his breakthrough from the Club’s Education Hub last season, the forward has made 24 appearances for Tranmere, scoring four times and winning our Case & Case Jewellers Goal of the Month award twice already this term.

The 18-year-old has shown great progression during his time with Rovers so far and has now committed his future to the Club until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Speaking after signing his new deal, Sam said: "I'm delighted. Happy to get it signed and stay for three more years. When it was offered to me, it was a no brainer."

Manager Nigel Adkins added: “I’m really pleased with Sam. He’s young, I think it’s good that we’ve got some senior role models at the football club for him to see and help him develop.

“He’s come through our Education Hub and he’s got a lot to learn still but all being well, when we talk about the long-term plans for the Club, I like to think that Sam can play a big part moving forward.

“It’s a really exciting period for Sam, and I think it’s a really exciting period for Tranmere Rovers that we’ve got somebody of Sam’s potential that we can nurture now over the next couple of years to come to the forefront.”
