Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Luke McGee spoke about the team’s regret at their defending for the second goal of their 2-2 draw at home to Grimsby Town in particular, but lauded their second-half performance to come back into the game.
“What we said at half time is that it went a little bit flat for the last 15 minutes of the first half.
“Their first goal was a bit of a sucker punch as I thought we were on top, doing well, and the second goal just can’t happen. We spoke about it at half time and we know that that’s not a goal we should concede whatsoever.
“It put us on the back foot but I thought we came out in the second half with a lot more enthusiasm and got the crowd going, and then backed it up with the performance I thought in the second half.”
