Tranmere Rovers manager Ian Dawes says ‘everyone is going to be hurting today’ after his side’s defeat at the hands of Wrexham.
“It hurts us today. The fans, the staff, the players, everyone’s going to be hurting today.
“It wasn’t just about a game of football today. We walk away gutted, we’ll be gutted tonight and tomorrow but come Monday morning, we’re focused on the next game, the players know that. We’re focused on the game on Tuesday.
“We knew going into the game it was two teams with two completely different styles of play.
"We knew when we prepped that Wrexham were going to be a big physical side who go very direct and play for long throws and corners and we knew they would try and be relentless with that, going into the game we knew we had to manage it with first and second contacts.
“First contacts we were okay with today, it was more the second contacts. We won some, but not enough today and it didn’t give us enough control of the game in spells.”
