Mark Colquitt, who recently completed our Fit Rovers 12-week free fitness programme, has now been selected to represent Team GB’s Para Ice Hockey team at the upcoming World Championships in Kazakhstan.
Mark is grateful to Tranmere Rovers in the Community and says his selection came ‘on the back of’ our free fitness programme.
If Mark and the team are successful in Kazakhstan, they have a chance of qualifying for the Paralympics in 2026.
Mark has to fully fund his own travel and accommodation for the trip, so has set up a GoFundMe page for people to support him.
On his selection, Mark said: “It’s fantastic to be named in the GB squad and be able to represent the country on the back of some work for the Fit Rovers course at Tranmere Rovers.
“Hopefully I’ll do Tranmere and the Wirral proud playing in Kazakhstan and help Team GB progress towards potentially competing at the Paralympic Games in Italy in 2026. I’m absolutely made up to be selected and looking forward to the challenge.”
