Rob Apter joins Rovers on loan from Blackpool

1 September 2023

Tranmere Rovers are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Rob Apter on loan from Blackpool until January.

Apter joined Tranmere’s youth setup aged 8, and remained with the Club for a large part of his development until leaving aged 15.

The 20-year-old has since made five senior appearances for Blackpool.

Apter has represented Scotland at under-19 level, making six appearances and scoring once.

He has also gained experience from loan spells with Bamber Bridge, Chester, and most recently in the National League with Scunthorpe United last season.

Manager Ian Dawes said: “We are pleased to be able to bring in Rob to strengthen our options up the pitch. He has benefitted from several loan spells and we feel he is now prepared to take the step to impress at this level.”

On joining Rovers, Rob said: “I can't wait, I'm made up. I enjoyed my time here a lot when I was younger, and now I'm back, I can't wait to get going.

"It brings back a lot of memories being back. It's a good place to be."
