Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins spoke to BBC Radio Merseyside’s Derek Jones following his side’s defeat at home to Walsall.
“We wanted to win the game. I thought we started well. Difficult conditions for both sides, the wind, I think everybody could see that.
“Nice firm pitch, so the ball was bouncing high and challenging, but we’ve started okay. We created some really good opportunities. I thought Regan Hendry was outstanding in the middle of the pitch first half. He had a great chance that just went past the post, but he’s gone and scored that first goal for us.
“We had really good chances in the first half. Just before half time, one of our players has not tracked their player, which is his job, stop the cross and then match the box, and then unfortunately for Jean Belehouan, he’s six foot five and it’s just skimmed over the top of his head and their player’s gone and scored the goal.”
