Reece McAlear looks ahead to Walsall tie

5 April 2024

Tranmere Rovers midfielder Reece McAlear has spoken of the opportunity to bounce back into winning form against Walsall this Saturday 6th April (3pm kick-off).

“The past few games we could have won, we could have lost, but it’s just the small moments in football that you need to put your chances away.

“This is another game on Saturday to get another win and put the past behind us, and build on for next season as well.”

On recent wins against the top teams, Reece said: “They’re big teams and they’re flying high in the table. This season we’ve performed well against the top teams and hopefully can do this against Walsall on Saturday.”

Reece came into the team last week to replace the injured Brad Walker, and enjoyed playing alongside his fellow Scot, Regan Hendry. “He’s a Scottish boy so we get on well. It can be difficult because you’re in and out of the team, sometimes you’re not even on the bench. You just need to come in and do your best.

“Right now, I think I just need a run of games and hopefully it comes well.”
