Tranmere Rovers to host Eid Prayer at Prenton Park for second year

5 April 2024

Tranmere Rovers are pleased to announce that the Club, for the second year, will be opening its doors at Prenton Park to our local Muslim community to host the Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers next week.

Last year, Rovers became the second football club in the UK to host the Eid prayers on a football pitch, working in partnership with our Wirral Deen Centre, Mosque and Community Centre, and we are pleased to be able to host the event again.

Eid-Ul-Fitr follows the completion of the fasting month of Ramadan, were Muslims typically fast by refraining from eating and drinking during daylight hours.

The event will either take place on Tuesday 9th or Wednesday 10th April which will be announced early next week.

The Eid-Ul-Fitr prayers will take place at 9.15am prompt and with gates opening at 8.45am. The prayers will end by 10am when families can go and continue their celebrations together.

‘Eid at Prenton Park’ is open to people and families of all ages, with provisions in place for both men and women to pray on the pitch. Those who attend are asked to bring their own prayer mat with them.
