Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins spoke to us after his side were defeated 3-1 at Swindon Town on Tuesday evening.
“We started the game really brightly. First 20 minutes were good, and then the lad’s got in, we’ve tried to make a block and he gets a shot in at the near post, we responded really well, get back into the game. Robbie Apter scores a goal. We had a couple of good chances.
“We had some good spells, it’s a big pitch here. We had some good spells with possession of the football. Likewise, we knew the opposition would have spells with the football.
“We look at the goal, 2-1, counter-attacking play from their point of view. Good play, they’ve gone and penetrated us from a pass.
“Having just watched it back, there were two exceptional forward passes that they’ve made. Inch perfect for the wide players who showed unbelievable pace to get on the end of them.”
