Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins has warned his side to ‘expect the unexpected’ as they travel to Swindon Town on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off), but that they should have ‘no fears’ playing away from home after their recent efforts on the road.
On this week’s training going into the game, Nigel said: “It’s been good. The result at the weekend, the performance, we needed to learn from.
“You always learn by failure, so it was really good. We had a lot of good interaction, lessons learned.
“So we talk about Swindon, they’ve changed their manager, don’t like to see managers lose their jobs, however they’ve made a change for a reason.
“There’s a way that they want to go and play, we’ve got an idea of how they want to play, playing them not so long ago, they’ve got good players.
“It’s going to be a challenge - expect the unexpected, because a caretaker manager or even a new manager is coming by then, we don’t know.
“We’ve got to keep working on our identity and what we want to go and do, and Swindon’s always been a difficult play to go and play.
“We do know we’ve won away from home lately. Going away from home, should have no fears for us, so that’s an important message for us, and we’re looking forward to the game however challenging this game’s going to be, every game’s going to be challenging.”
