Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Luke McGee underlined the importance of his side’s victory after beating Sutton United 1-0 at home.
“Especially the last two results not going our way, you don’t want to pick up, well, a few months ago we had momentum positively and building on the back of that, I think the longer you go without a win, we don’t worry as players but obviously you get the feel for it that pressure creeps in more and more.
“That was massive today, especially the way they play and they’re fighting for their lives so I thought that was a massive win today.
“I think their smallest player’s probably about six foot three! Jordan (Turnbull) and Tom (Davies) especially against the big lads up top, I thought dealt with them fantastic.
“Rego (Regan Hendry) and Brad (Walker) picking up the second balls, it was never going to be a nice game to watch really for the neutral.
“I thought Mezza (Chris Merrie) when he came on was fantastic after being out of it for such a long time, but that’s credit to him, that’s exactly how he is as a person.”
