Ben Hockenhull is a young, talented central defender, who began his career when he signed for the Manchester United academy at the tender age of six.

Born on September 3rd, 2001, his dedication and skill led him to secure a scholarship in 2018 before moving away from Carrington two years later to pursue new challenges.

Subsequently, Hockenhull joined Brentford's B team, signing a two-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.  Despite facing injuries during the 2020/21 campaign, he persevered and progressed within the club, where his performances earned him the opportunity to train with the senior squad and even captain the B team.

In May 2022, Tranmere welcomed Hockenhull, signing him on a two-year contract. He won Man of the Match on his debut against Crewe Alexandra in the EFL Trophy, before embarking on a successful loan spell with Warrington Rylands. He has since spent short loan spells with Chorley and Spennymoor Town in the National League North, and scored his first senior goal with the latter. He is currently on a short-term loan at Southport.

Hockenhull's defensive prowess and potential make him an exciting Rovers prospect and one who will be looking to break into the first team.
