Forward Jordan Ponticelli joined Tranmere Rovers on a six-month loan deal from Coventry City in July 2019.

Linking up with Micky Mellon’s side ahead of the 2019/20 Sky Bet League One season, the 20-year-old became the eighth summer recruit to arrive at Prenton Park.

Nuneaton-born Ponticelli began his career in the youth set up at Coventry, coming through to earn a professional contract with the Sky Blues in 2017.

Ponticelli made his professional debut in an EFL Cup tie against Blackburn Rovers in August 2017 before making his league bow in a fixture with Barnet in October of the same year.

In the 2017/18 campaign, Ponticelli went on to make 19 appearances as Coventry won promotion via the Sky Bet League Two Play-Offs at Wembley Stadium.

A loan switch to Macclesfield Town in 2018/19 followed as he gained more EFL experience turning out for the Silkmen.

Ponticelli returned to Coventry in January, playing five games for the Midlands’ club before his loan move to TRFC.
