Born on November 2nd, 1998, central midfielder Chris Merrie progressed through the youth ranks at Everton before signing for Wigan Athletic as a youngster in 2013.
He made his Latics debut in August 2017 during an EFL Cup clash against Blackpool, contributing to a 2–1 victory.
Merrie then gained loan experience at both Southport and Altrincham, where he helped the latter to promotion, before breaking into the Wigan first team and making 26 league appearances in their 2020/21 League One campaign.
In 2021, the midfielder joined Tranmere Rovers on a two-year deal, bringing his skill, versatility, and passion for the game to the club's midfield.
