Midfielder Jacob Maddox signed for Tranmere Rovers on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea in August.

The England youth international, who represented the Three Lions at U16, U17, U19 and U20 level, came through Chelsea’s academy having began his career at hometown club Bristol City.

Progressing through the age groups at Stamford Bridge, Maddox was a part of the Chelsea team who won the FA Youth Cup in 2016 and 2017, playing alongside the likes of Tammy Abraham, Mason Mount and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The 20-year-old moved to Cheltenham Town in Sky Bet League Two for the 2018/19 campaign, making 44 appearances and scoring four goals for the Gloucestershire outfit, winning the Robins’ Young Player of the Year award.

Maddox’s next loan stint would see him link up with Micky Mellon’s TRFC for their Sky Bet League One term.

Jacob is still available to sponsor the 2019/20 season.
