Alan Is a Licensed Coach with the FA and is a UEFA B Licence (Youth & Senior) holder.

As well as working at Tranmere's academy for the last three years, he has coached at Morecambe and Wirral Schools in England and at Bala Town and Airbus in Wales.

More recently Alan has worked with the club in coaching players in China, as well as provide education to their respective coaches.
