It’s a top of the table clash in Sky Bet League Two as league leaders Forest Green Rovers visit Prenton Park on Saturday afternoon.
It’s a crucial game for Rovers as they look to close the gap on the visitors, currently sitting seven points behind Rob Edward’s side in 2nd place.
The boys will be full of confidence as they are unbeaten in ten league games and will be hoping to continue that run in front of a big attendance which is expected at Prenton Park.
However, the visitors have been in great form, proving why the two sides are currently occupying the top two spots in the league. With Forest Green being unbeaten in 14 games in Sky Bet League Two, it’s going to be a very exciting clash on Saturday afternoon.
Team News:
Paul Glatzel and Nat Knight-Percival are both available for selection following their injuries. Tom Davies was described as "touch and go" by Micky Mellon in his race to be fit for the weekend.
One to Watch: Jamille Matt
An experienced striker in the EFL, Jamille Matt has over 200 career appearances, with over 50 coming for his current side Forest Green Rovers.
Since joining in 2020, he has a very impressive goal record and this season has proved no different as he’s scored 17 goals in all competitions, a key component and factor in Forest Green’s success so far this campaign.
The former Newport Striker has been in inspired form as of late and has eight goals in his last eight games and will be looking to help his side with goals again on Saturday afternoon.
Manager: Rob Edwards
The manager in the opposite dugout is a relatively new manager in terms of experience but he couldn’t have got off to a better start.
He had a successful playing career, featuring heavily as a centre-half for Wolverhampton Wanderers, Blackpool and his national team, Wales.
After moving into coaching at the age of 30, Edwards joined Forest Green in June 2021 after leaving his dual role as England U16 Head Coach as well as being the U20 assistant for the FA.
