Tranmere To Face Boreham Wood At Wembley

6 May 2018

Tranmere will face Boreham Wood in next Saturday's Vanarama National League Promotion Final following Luke Garrard's side's 3-2 win over Sutton United.

Rovers defeated Ebbsfleet United 4-2 after extra time on Saturday thanks to goals from James Norwood (2), Josh Ginnelly and Larnell Cole and just over 24 hours later learned their opponents for the Wembley final.

Boreham Wood took the lead late at Sutton's Gander Green Lane in the first half and went two goals up on 53 minutes. Sutton pulled a goal back on 83 minutes to set up a frantic close to the tie, with Boreham Wood first extending their lead on 88 minutes only to then concede soon after.

It will be the second year in a row Micky Mellon has led his side out at Wembley following last season's final against Forest Green Rovers, and the eighth time in total the Club has played at the national stadium.
