Micky's Lincoln reaction

22 April 2019

Tranmere Rovers manager Micky Mellon was proud of his team's efforts after a solid point at League Two champions Lincoln City.

Rovers had some great goal scoring opportunities, but couldn't find the back of the net at Sincil Bank, but defended proudly in front of nearly 1,000 travelling supporters from the Wirral.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Mellon said: "It was a big effort and a big day for us. Very, very early in the first-half we had to get reorganised as we were all over the place, and I felt we didn’t get caught up in any of the emotion of the day and we did our jobs.

“We played well, today we had a very good second-half performance and it gives us the belief and the confidence that we can do it.

“We’re still up near the top of the league, we created chances and we are disappointed at the chances that we didn’t take but we are pleased how we battled well today.

“We are pleased that we came to Lincoln, who are top of the table, and came to represent Tranmere so well.”
