Morris pleased to score first TRFC goal

9 February 2019

Tranmere Rovers winger Kieron Morris was pleased to score his first goal for the Club in the 2-0 win against Stevenage.

Morris, on loan from Walsall, scored the opening goal in the 45th minute, just before the half time whistle, heading home Connor Jennings cross, who also assisted James Norwood for TRFC’s second.

He said: “I am overwhelmed, it was a great performance from the boys. We dominated the game, especially in the second half and I am pleased to score.

“We set the tempo straight away. We had momentum and we took control from the first whistle.

“As a winger, you always have to get into the box and that is what I did for my goal.  That is how you get goals, I got to the back stick and I had an opportunity to score, and luckily, I put it away.

“Today I stayed out wide and was able to stretch the game. It paid off and we took our chances in front of goal.”
