Match Preview: Bradford City

19 April 2021

Rovers travel to Bradford on Tuesday night (7pm kick off) for the penultimate away fixture of the season with four games remaining in League Two.

Last time out was a goalless draw at Prenton Park against Salford City with Paul Lewis’ second half strike against the bar being the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock. Keith Hill’s men remain in 5th position in the League Two table.

Bradford, joint managed by Mark Trueman and Conor Sellars, are 13th in the division and only four points off the play off places. Their last six games have produced three wins, two losses and one draw.

Team News

Keith Hill has no new injury concerns within his squad following Saturday's game against Salford.

Jay Spearing is now available for selection following his suspension.

One to watch

Striker, Andy Cook.

A name well known and loved by the SWA, Cook has been a real source of goals for the Bantams since joining on loan from Mansfield this January.

Born in the North East, Cook started his career at Carlisle United but really found his feet with Barrow AFC. A first spell at Barrow returned an impressive 30 goals in 57 appearances which caught the eye of Grimsby Town.

A two year spell with the Mariners came to an end as he returned to Barrow for a second permanent spell, again finding the net on a regular basis.

In 2016, Gary Brabin came calling for the forward to bring him to Prenton Park which would be a signing that went on to play a big part in our history.

Instantly becoming a fan favourite, Cook netted 56 times in 81 games for Rovers and would score a crucial goal in the National League Play Off Final.

A move to League One Walsall was too good to turn down for the forward where he spent one season before making the move to Mansfield.

This January he made the loan move to Bradford and is quickly establishing himself with the Bantams having scored 8 goals already.
