February marks LGBT History Month!

2 February 2021

February is LGBT History Month, an annual awareness campaign dedicated to promoting equality and diversity.

Tranmere Rovers Football Club work closely with our supporters group, Rover & Out, to deliver our joint objective which is to ensure all of our fans can safely watch their Club, both home and away, and not be subject of any homophobic, biphobic or transphobic abuse, whether that is in person or online.

The aim of LGBT History Month is to tackle prejudice and promote inclusion in all walks of life and our priority is to ensure Tranmere Rovers continues and will remain a football club for everyone.

Tranmere Rovers Vice Chair, Nicola Palios, said: "There is no place for homophobia within football, and we are determined to play our part in making sure that Prenton Park, and our media platforms, are a welcoming environment for all.”

In October 2020, Kick It Out, football’s equality and inclusion organisation, launched a brand new campaign called, ‘Take A Stand’.

The campaign’s objective is to encourage more people in the football community to make a pledge to tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in football.

If you see any abuse online, or hear any once fans are allowed back in stadiums, we encourage you to report it by CLICKING HERE
