Tranmere Rovers to host Open Day on Sunday 25th July at Prenton Park

19 July 2021

Tranmere Rovers are pleased to announce the Club will hold an activity packed Open Day on Sunday 25th July from noon until 4pm at Prenton Park

Supporters will be able to have a tour of the ground including a chance to see some of the work that has been done during lockdown. This includes the refurbishment of the Johnny King stand - incorporating a mural of the great man himself and some fascinating displays about the history of the Club and some of its most loved players - as well as a chance to see close up some of the latest Paul Curtis murals.

The usual tour of the dressing rooms and hospitality rooms will be available, but in addition supporters will be able to see how the communications and security operations at the club work on a matchday, including a visit to the police control room and even an opportunity for a photo locked up in our own police cells.

The plans for the new Fan Park will be on display, and German Kraft will be serving some of their fantastic beers and gins.

Our beautiful new airstream catering van will serve food, alongside some of the Cowsheds catering kiosks.

There will be talks from key back-room staff on player nutrition, sports science, physiotherapy and pitch maintenance, as well as an update from our Chairman, Mark Palios on Club matters and a Q&A. We will also be confirming details about our new lottery.

Of course, no Open Day would be complete without a player autograph session, and there will be an opportunity for fans not only to meet the new squad members and get items signed, but also to be part of the official squad photo for the new season.

We will have a number of competitions running on the day, including a quiz to see how much you know about our current crop of players, a cake baking competition (with the cakes being sold for charity after being judged by the Manager, Micky Mellon) and a chance to design next season’s first team kit.

There will be football and Futsal sessions for those who want to take part in some physical activity, plus inflatables for the younger SWA members and eSports for those who prefer to play their games sitting down!  We will also be highlighting the work of the Junior Media Team and inviting sign-ups for the new season.

We will have a team of medics on hand to give live demonstrations of how to use public access defibrillator machines and perform CPR - something which could help save a life and the need for which is particularly evident following the cardiac arrest of Christian Eriksen at this year’s Euros.

There will be an opportunity to find out more about the educational opportunities within the Club and the job vacancies we currently have available, and season ticket holders will be able to pick up their season passes.

It is sure to be an action-packed day and we look forward to seeing you all there.
