Rovers defender Jordan Turnbull described Saturday's display as a brilliant performance as he helped the SWA towards their league victory of the season.
After making his Rovers debut in the cup win against Accrington on Tuesday, Turnbull made his first league start at the weekend and he touched on the importance of Tuesday's win and how they were able to take the momentum from that result into Saturday.
"A perfect day, a clean sheet, the boys performed excellent. We spoke about it on Tuesday night after the cup game, we had a slow start first half but fantastic from the boy's second half to come back, claw the game back and win the game. We were hoping that would bring us a bit of momentum, a bit of confidence into the team, we know it's been a tough start and that's exactly what happened.
"We went out there from the start was absolutely excellent, ran all over them, we felt super fit out there, super organised. A brilliant performance."
Turnbull also talked about the challenge of joining up with the squad quite late and admitted that it's taken time for him and the other new recruits to gel, he said that Saturday was a huge step in the right direction however, and is already looking ahead to Tuesday's trip to Hartlepool.
"Obviously the likes of myself coming in late, it's been a job to gel the boys together. There's no excuse for the slow start we've had, but these things do come into play, the young squad as well trying to get that experience in.
"It might take a little bit of time to gel perfectly, but today everything went right. It's definitely a huge, huge step in the right direction. On to Tuesday now, we need to make it count by picking up some more points. We can't stop there."
