Tranmere Rovers legend Ian Muir will launch his new autobiography 'Striking Back' at our home match against Newport County on Saturday 9th December.
The forward is the Club's record goalscorer, netting 180 times in all competitions over an historic ten-year spell on the Wirral.
The book accounts Muir's prolific youth career, his time at Queens Park Rangers, representing England, playing at Birmingham City and Brighton & Hove Albion and then onto the move that would define his career, when Frank Worthington brought him to the Wirral.
Managed by Tommy Docherty, Terry Venables, Ron Saunders, Frank Worthington and John King; Muir’s footballing journey is extraordinary. This book details for the first time how he had the footballing world at his feet and how, when it all came crashing down and he stared relegation out of the Football League in the face, he tried to strike his way back to the very top.
