Luke Norris previews FA Cup reunion with former club Stevenage

3 November 2023

Luke Norris has described his injury frustrations, as he prepares for a reunion with former club Stevenage in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Rovers travel to face the Hertfordshire side in the first round proper, where the forward made over 100 appearances and scored 36 goals between 2021 and 2023.

Norris joined Tranmere in the summer with an injury before a short-lived return to fitness after picking up another knock against Salford City in August.

However, last weekend’s match against Stockport County saw the 30-year-old return to match action, off the bench in the second half.

“I’m raring to get back involved to try and improve things,” said Norris. “I think Saturday is a massive game. They're a team I know very well. It’s going to be a tough one but it’s a great place for us to start now.

“It’s been tough for me because I joined the Club with a broken foot, got up to full speed and then another injury happens and it’s not nice. I’ve not enjoyed watching it, because I want to be a part of it.

“I’ve been involved, I’ve been around the boys all the time. I went down to Morecambe, the manager said he wanted to start getting me back involved and getting me in that team spirit.

“Every player has injuries, but I’ve always been a minimum 40-45 game a season player. Hopefully now we’re past it and we’ve got 31 games to play, hopefully more, and I want to be a part of all of them.”
