Tranmere Rovers winger Rob Apter spoke of the disappointment in the dressing room after his team’s Emirates FA Cup defeat to Stevenage was sealed late in stoppage time, but emphasised the importance of carrying the momentum of the performance forward into some important games coming up.
“We’re all gutted. In the changing room everyone’s heads are down, but we pick ourselves up and go next week and hopefully that’s a start for us to show what we can do against a good League One team and go again.
“We need (the supporters) to stick with us now because we feel like we got a bit of momentum from that.
“I know we lost the game, but I thought we played well enough to win the game in the end, so we need everyone to stick with us and we go again.”
