Regan Hendry reacts to important Bradford win

4 October 2023

Tranmere Rovers' midfielder Regan Hendry says side's 2-1 win over Bradford City at Prenton Park was "a joy to play in."

The Scot opened the scoring for Rovers with his first of the season, a long range effort that was parried into the net by visiting goalkeeper Harry Lewis.

Rovers picked up three valuable points that promote them to 22nd in League Two and out of the relegation zone.

"If you don't shoot, you don't score," Hendry said in reference to his goal in the first half. "You could probably tell by my lack of celebration.

"At the start of the season I said I wanted to score more. You can't do that if you don't shoot.

"I, and the team, deserved a wee bit of luck. Performances haven't been good enough, but tonight it was there."
