Nigel Adkins previews AFC Wimbledon tie

18 April 2024

Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins expects a ’tough game’ from play-off chasing AFC Wimbledon this Saturday 20th April (3pm kick-off).

“For me, it’s just a shame it’s the final game at home. For me, we’re just getting started!

“It’s going to be a tough game. Wimbledon are going to be tough. Johnnie Jackson was assistant manager down at Charlton so I’m really pleased the way he’s taken to management. That was always what he wanted to go and do.

“He’s done a real good job down at Wimbledon and we know it’s going to be tough. They’ve still got a chance at the play-offs, so it’s all to play for, it’s not as if it’s a dead rubber.

“From my point of view, we’re changing one or two things round and we want to go and win the game.

“The engagement from the fans, we want them to be excited. It’s a game that we can just go and look forward to with the fans as well. Hopefully the weather will be alright, we’ve had a lot of rain and wind, so it’ll be a nice day.”

Official members of our YouTube channel can watch Nigel’s pre-match interview in full now, or it will become public from 12pm on Friday.
