Tranmere Rovers manager Nigel Adkins said his team will reflect on the game after losing 3-2 in stoppage time to Morecambe.
“I thought we started the game ever so well. We’ve constantly started games well. We put Harvey Saunders in for his pace, we thought he’d exploit them there, and he did that, he worked his socks off.
“It was a great opening. He’s gone and caused all sorts of problems. We look at Robbie Apter, scoring the goal. We’re very good on the counter-attack, we have been consistently. It was a great first goal, then Connor Jennings scored from the penalty spot, it’s well deserved.
“They get themselves back into the game after 15-20 minutes, and all of a sudden it makes it a little bit more challenging.
“We knew they were a good side, they’ve just won their last three, they’re in good form themselves.
“The impact off the bench from the two players who came on towards the end made a big difference for them.
“Cold light of day, we’ll reflect on it, that’s the best thing to go and do.”
