Tranmere Rovers striker Charlie Jolley pointed to the effort his side put in for their 2-1 victory at Grimsby Town at Blundell Park.
“We had to dig in for the whole 90 minutes. Obviously to concede from the set piece to make it 1-1 is not ideal, we’re going into half time probably the better team in every department.
“The second half was a lot better from us. At half time, we’ve got a game plan and we stuck to it, turned the game around and held on at the end.
“We created so many chances and we’ve got to put them away but we didn’t. They had probably one chance the goal came from and that’s football.
“We created enough in the first and second half to warrant a win and we did.”
