Peter Clarke says that the Rovers team are ‘in a good place’ at the moment as they head into their next batch of games, starting with Port Vale on Saturday.
Rovers sit 5th in Sky Bet League Two and will be looking to build on recent victories to cement their position in the top positions of the division.
“I think we’re in a good place. Obviously the league positions suggests that at the moment but in terms of in the building, the lads are in a confident mood but are really looking to work hard and carry on improving to push on between now and the end of the season.
“A good run of form doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time and understanding each other as well as forming relationships on the pitch with your team mates. I think people can start to see that happening now.
“We go into every game respecting the opposition whoever they may be but we do not fear anyone. I’m not being over confident or arrogant, that is just belief in what we’re doing.
After a busy transfer window, there are healthy numbers and competition for places in the Rovers squad and that is something that Peter believes can only be a positive.
“The performance on Tuesday night was fantastic against a good League One side and that performance showed that we’ve got a collective work ethic and spirit that everyone wants to do well. Competition for places is certainly a good thing.
“From a player’s point of view, everyone enjoys having the ball and having possession and if we can do that, it also limits the opposition as well. There has been a real emphasis on the team keeping the ball and moving the ball to wear other teams down.
“Collectively we’ve got good options around the pitch for whoever is on the ball which aids in keeping possession and mounting the pressure on the opposing teams.”
